People Policy and Development Committee
The Committee has delegated authority to deal with all matters within its purview. Its minutes are submitted to the Authority, together with any recommendations, for ratification.
The Committee has responsibility for the appointment of ACPO ranks and other Force Executive Officers; the approval of fixed term appointments for such Executive officers and any other matters relating to their pay structure and conditions of service.
The Committee also has responsibility for the appointment of support staff under the direction and control of the Authority, in accordance with an agreed Staffing Protocol. It considers and approves any matters relating to the pay, structure, grievances, discipline, capability, regrading or other, in accordance with the agreed Procedures.
The Committee has many other general duties including: to consider the relevant proposals and outcomes arising from the Police Pay Reform Working Group; consider and approve the annual Force Human Resources Plan (including Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare) and the key objectives and targets; to receive and consider the minutes of the Ill-Health Management Panel; to consider and evaluate members' training and development.
