Liaison and Consultation Committee
The Liaison and Consultation Committee consists of the Chair and the Vice-Chair of the Authority and the Chairs and Vice-Chairs of the Authority's Strategic Committees.
The Committee provides a forum for discussion between representatives of police officers, support staff and the Police Authority (but not covering matters for which the Chief Constable is responsible).
It promotes understanding of the Authority's policies and programmes by representatives of the uniformed and support staff and encourages co-operation and trust between the Authority, uniformed and support staff.
The Committee discuss and consult on general conditions of service matters affecting officers and support staff which are not matters subject to national agreement - but not matters relating to an individual officer or employee. It also discusses and consults on matters requiring the decision of the Authority in respect of Police Negotiating Board Agreements, Police Support Staff Council Agreements, or any other national agreements in force from time to time.
The authority of the Liaison and Consultation Committee is advisory only, with its minutes being submitted to the Authority.
