Liaison and Consultation Committee
Terms of reference
- To be a forum for discussion between representatives of police officers and support staff and representatives of the Police Authority (but not covering matters for which the Chief Constable is responsible).
- To promote understanding of the Authority's policies and programmes by representatives of the uniformed and support staff.
- To encourage co-operation and trust between the Authority and uniformed and support staff.
- To discuss and consult on general conditions of service matters affecting officers and support staff which are not matters subject to national agreement - but not matters relating to an individual officer or employee.
- To discuss and consult on matters requiring decisions of the Authority in respect of Police Negotiating Board Agreements, Police Support Staff Council Agreements, or any other national agreements in force from time to time.
- The authority of the Liaison and Consultative Committee is advisory only, with its minutes being submitted to the Authority.
