Statutory functions
General statutory functions:
- To secure the maintenance of an efficient and effective police force for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent
- To hold the Chief Constable to account for the exercise of his/her functions and persons under his/her direction and control
- To secure best value
- To make arrangements to engage local people regarding the policing of their area and obtain their co-operation in preventing crime
- To promote equality and diversity within the Staffordshire Force and within the Authority.
