His police career started in 1957 as a police cadet and he retired after thirty-six years service, mostly operational, but his last post was as an Inspector in charge of the North Staffordshire Criminal Justice Department based at Hanley.
Much of Clive’s service was in Stoke-on-Trent but he also spent several years at Leek, also covering Cheadle, Uttoxeter and Biddulph.
As a Councillor he was on the Fire Authority and this is his second year on the Police Authority.
Outside of his Ward and Council commitments, Clive enjoys walking the Staffordshire Countryside with his wife, gardening (has a small orchid collection) and D.I.Y.
