Peter took early retirement in 2000, after twenty-seven years as a local government officer, mostly in the museums service at Walsall, Wolverhampton and Stoke-on-Trent; but latterly as Director of Leisure and Cultural Services for the City Council.
He is currently Chair of the Friends of the Potteries Museums and Art Gallery and a volunteer recorder of breeding bird activity at Trentham Gardens and elsewhere in Staffordshire.
