Mrs Hifsa Haroon-Iqbal
Mrs Hifsa Haroon-Iqbal is the Equality and Diversity Officer at Staffordshire University with responsibility for race, religion and belief.
Hifsa’s background is largely in the area of ethnicity and health. She began her employment at Staffordshire University as a Research Fellow in November 2000.
Since then, she has worked on a number of research projects and gained a Masters in Philosophy in 2005. She has been supporting the university in the area of equality and diversity for a number of years, particularly in the area of faith and religion.
Hifsa has published work in the areas of palliative care and peer review and has also been instrumental in developing a module for the MSC in Spirituality and Health, entitled ‘spiritual care in the context of differing beliefs’.
Hifsa is a Trustee of the Stafford Muslim Community Centre and manages the Muslim Youth Project. She is a Trustee of the Stafford District Voluntary Services and a Governor of Stafford College.
Hifsa also chairs the Stafford Equality Lifelong Learning Centre and Stafford and District Faith Forum. She is Vice Chair of the Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education in Staffordshire.
